Backgrounder: India and the Mineral Security Partnership "IndyWatch Feed War"

Critical minerals, crucial for various industries and manufacturing processes, are gaining global importance amid post-pandemic supply chain shocks and export bans. Acknowledging the significance of these resources, India has taken strategic steps to strengthen its standing in the critical minerals sector. Its noteworthy initiatives include releasing a comprehensive critical minerals strategy and its recent entry into the Mineral Security Partnership.

Indias Role in the Mineral Security Partnership

The US-led Mineral Security Partnership aims to secure and diversify critical minerals supply chains vital to high-tech and renewable industries. Indias decision to become a member is driven by the desire for sustainable economic growth, particularly in the manufacturing sector and supply chain security.

India's rice export ban triggers panic buying at US supermarkets "IndyWatch Feed World"

The ban on overseas sale of rice by the world's biggest exporter India has led to panic buying from store shelves in the US and consternation in South East Asia and Africa. Already grappling with a succession of shocks such as the pandemic, the Ukraine conflict and the impact of the El Nino, the world rice trade was shaken earlier this week when India banned the export of non-basmati white rice, which constitutes 25 per cent of its exports. The pressure on rice, an emergency substitute for wheat, has increased after Russia cancelled the Black Sea grain deal that ensured Ukrainian exports of the grain. While traders elsewhere in the world were fretting, an immediate impact of the ban announcement was long lines at stores all over the US as people rushed to stock up on rice. Visuals showed rice bags being grabbed from the shelves by crowds of Asian customers for whom rice is a staple.

Do not forget them "IndyWatch Feed World"

to start with, i totally loath how the ongoing abusers of all indigenous groups worldwide go on assigning modern moral sensibilities to past generations and their more egregious behaviors.

The truth is that if your linage survived to the present, your linage was lucky.  A few got lucky earlier, but most did not.  the global elimination of poverty is almost complete today and has accelerated as well.  The illiterate poor did not treat their fellows well anywhere.  The literate elites tried at best, but were still stuck using what was often the scum of the earth as their agents.  Never wonderful.

It is nice to know all about it while globally child slavery is skyrocketing because it gives a criminal a decade long supply of income.  Same problem taking advantage of the illiterate and poor or any other fool.

This problem is obviously difficult to repair and children shuffled off to an abusive school fared poorly, but the economy suporting their ancestors also disappeared.  In fact our own ancestral economy based on the cow has also almost disappeared as well.

Thousands of Indigenous children suffered and died in residential schools around the world. Their stories must be heard

He quit all to build off-grid village, mountain-long Earthship "IndyWatch Feed World"

This is a wonderful proof of concept that surely imagines the ultimate Natural Community of 150 folks.  what comes out of this is not the scale of the build which also taps a greater community but that the central sustainable food economy is all about milk and eggs all by themselves as the source of year round sustainance.

We know that of course, but it still took me a long time to understand that is was the rocket fuel for hindus and europeans and Bantu population explosions.  No more folks.  rice culture for SE Asia of course and the three sisters in the Americas and Cassava culture in the tropics.

We live in a bizzarre world in which the homeless will not take him up on his offer of a home for work contribution.  Yet this is our human future and this can be replicated almost anywhere.  After all, we even run cattle in the deserts of new mexico.

Major fossil fuel producers cause rift among G20 "IndyWatch Feed War"

RT | July 23, 2023

Saudi Arabia and Russia have prevented a consensus from emerging among the Group of 20 major economies on a road map to phase down the share of fossil fuels in the global energy mix, Reuters has reported.

The G20 energy transition ministers held a four-day summit that ended on Saturday in the Indian state of Goa where they discussed ways to achieve global net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.

The summit ended without a consensus because major fossil fuel producers, including Saudi Arabia and Russia, opposed a proposal to triple G20 countries renewable energy capacity by 2030, Reuters reported, citing its sources.

China, the worlds largest consumer of energy, as well as coal exporters South Africa and Indonesia, also opposed the plan, the agency added. India, the worlds most populous country and which currently generates 75% of its total power from coal, reportedly took a neutral stance on the issue.

As a result of the disagreements, the ministers issued an outcome statement and a chair summary instead of a joint communique. A joint communique is issued when complete agreement among members on all issues is achieved.

According to the statement, different national circumstances drove some members to support a phase-down of unabated fossil fuels, while others had different views and suggested that abatement and removal technologies would address environmental concerns associated with the use of fossil fuels.

Fossil fuels currently continue to play a significant role in the global energy mix, eradication of energy poverty, and in meeting the growing energy demand, reads the statement.

The document mentioned a number of technologies for countries to use as per national priorities, such as carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS), a technology that can capture and make effective use of the high concentrations of CO emitted by industrial activities.

The G20 comprises 19 nations and the European Union. The groups aim is to address major issues related to the global economy, such as international financial stability and climate change. Together, the G20 member countries account for over three-quarters of both gross domestic product and global emissions.
