Cyclone Biparjoy disrupts power, kills two in India and Pakistan "IndyWatch Feed World"

Roofs have been blown off houses and trees and electric poles uprooted, leaving thousands without power as a severe cyclone makes landfall and heavy rains lash both the Indian and Pakistani coasts. At least two people died in India's western state of Gujarat after being swept away by floods just before the cyclone hit, officials said on Friday. More than 180,000 people were evacuated in India and Pakistan in the last few days as authorities braced for the cyclone, named Biparjoy, which means "disaster" or "calamity" in the Bengali language. It made landfall late on Thursday near Jakhau, a port in Gujarat that is close to the border with Pakistan, weather officials said.

Nine suspected people smugglers accused of piloting the fishing trawler that sank off the coast of Greece last week are expected to appear in a Greek court on Monday, as authorities in Athens face further criticism of their handling of the disaster.

Between 400 and 750 people are thought to have been onboard the vessel, which sank in one of the deepest parts of the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Pylos on 14 June.

The UN refugee agency, UNHCR, said the disaster could be the second deadliest refugee and migrant shipwreck ever recorded, with more than 500 people, including at least 100 children, believed missing.

Greek authorities said that 78 dead and 104 survivors - mostly from Syria, Afghanistan, Egypt and Pakistan - were brought ashore.

But survivors of the shipwreck have accused the Greek coastguard of ignoring their pleas for help, leading to the loss of many more lives.

A large Israeli raid in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin on Monday morning has killed at least five Palestinians and wounded 91, with 18 in critical condition.

The Palestinian health ministry named those killed as 21-year-old Khaled Azzam Darwish, Ahmed Youssef Saqr, 15, and Qassam Faisal Abu Sariya, 29 and Qais Majdi Jabareen, 21, all from Jenin. The identity of the fifth victim is not yet known.

The Palestinian health ministry also reported that a 15-year-old girl was shot in the head by Israeli forces and was transferred to Jenin Government Hospital. She is said to be in critical condition.

At least eight Israeli soldiers were reportedly wounded, some of them seriously, according to Palestinian news site Arab48 and Israeli newspaper Haaretz, though this has not been confirmed by Israel.

Jenin has been a regular target of Israeli assaults in the West Bank over the last year.

Early on Monday, a large number of Israeli forces stormed the city in the northern West Ban...

Zelensky demeans African delegation "IndyWatch Feed World"

Dear Readers: Today I have this piece by reporter Gevorg Mirzayan. Whom I don't usually read, because he really ticked me off during the "Summer of Riots" in the U.S. Where some of his anti-BLM pieces verged on outright racism and showed that did not understand the American racial/caste system at all. (Not that I'm defending BLM, but some of the stuff he wrote at the time really was racist.) Anyhow, things have changed since then in Russian mainstream thinking. Now black people are the good guys, well at least African-Africans, if not necessarily African-Americans. The real Africans, as Russians have discovered, are pretty nice people overall and don't hate Russia. Thank goodness the Russian Empire never tried to colonize Africa! Modern Russians should thank their stars for this historical fact, because it gives them a clean conscience, and a nice clean slate to work with, while duking it out on the Ukrainian battlefield against the White European hordes. This past Friday, as...

The Pakistani Defense Minister Lied To Newsweek About The State Of Democracy In His Country "IndyWatch Feed War"

BY ANDREW KORYBKO | JUNE 18, 2023

Newsweek published an extended interview with Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Saturday in which this official repeatedly returned to the state of democracy in his country. This de facto theme pervades the entire text since he continually referenced this falls elections as supposedly being the key to resolving Pakistans economic crisis. Asif insists that theyll be free and fair without any meddling from his countrys military-intelligence structures, The Establishment, but this isnt true at all.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan (IK) was deposed in April 2022s post-modern coup precisely because The Establishments leading representative at the time, former Chief Of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa, colluded with his domestic opponents to oust him after first securing tacit American approval. Pakistan then entered into a series of cascading crises that continue to this day, with its economic one being the focus of considerable international attention due to the countrys potentially impending bankruptcy.

Political stability is the prerequisite for resolving the economic crisis from which the others have largely stemmed, but The Establishment refused to allow truly free and fair early elections like IK and his supporters requested because then their post-modern coup would have been for naught. Those who carried out that regime change have financial, ideological, personal, and professional stakes in preventing his return to office, which explains why theyve so passionately opposed him since then.

The approximately 18 months between IKs removal in April 2022 and the next scheduled national elections in fall of this year were supposed to give The Establishment enough time to meddle in Pakistans democratic process to ensure that he doesnt win. This was first done through indirect means by having their media proxies falsely allege that there was supposedly no basis to the oil deal talks that he claimed to have held with President Putin during his trip to Moscow in late February 2022.

The associated innuendo was that his claim of being overthrown by an American-approved but superficially democratic plot as punishment for his independent foreign policy...

Porsche Mission X "IndyWatch Feed Economics"

The Porsche Mission X is the latest step in the ongoing victory of EVs over ICE. From Teslas to inexpensive entry-level BYDs to super and hypercars, its a shift as game-changing as when Dylan first strapped on a Stratocaster and let er rip.

The Mission X is an ultra-lightweight hypercar, replacing the 918 Spyder. Its mass is highly centered behind the driver (as opposed to being under the passenger compartment) making it not only wicked fast but agile, too. Its 1:1 power/weight ratio sets it up to be one of if not the fastest production car ever, with a 0-60 MPH spring in less than 2 seconds. Porsche claims it will be the fastest road-legal vehicle on the Nrburgrings famous Nordschleife loop. That record, 6:35.18, is currently held by the Mercedes-AMG One, essentially;y a street-legal Formula One car.

Some of the more astonishing details:

Power: ~1,480 HP (estimated )
Unusual poroportions: 14.8 feet long but only 3.9 feet tall;
Aerodynamic drag better than the 911 GT3 RS
1000+ pounds of down force from active aero;
900 V architecture, (about half charge time compared of a Taycan Turbo S);
Multiple Screen for drivers gauges, center console and passenger.
Scissor-opening doors

Prices have not been announced yet, but a limited production run is expected to cost in the 7 figures with delivery around 2026.

Previous Porsche hypercars were similarly limited: The Porsche 959 (300 units from 1986 to 1993),  the Carrera GT (1270 units), and Porsche 918 plug-in hybrid (918 units) all were all low volume productions.

It would be a surprise if Porsche made more than 1000 of these monsters.

India bots to the rescue "IndyWatch Feed Economics"

None of women in the Bangalore trial had heard of ChatGPT and some of them had given up on receiving aid after struggling with language barriers, and government officials and middlemen demanding bribes.

The Bangalore trials were led by Saurabh Karn and his team at the nonprofit OpenNyAI. By feeding a collection of millions of parallel sentences spoken in different Indian languages into machine translation software, and adding thousands of hours of dialogue for speech recognition, the bot, named Jugalbandi, offers text-to-speech multi-language translation on the fly. For instance, a rural farmer can pose a question in Haryanvi, the language spoken just outside Delhi, and the tool translates it into English, searches the database for an appropriate answer, and then translates the answer back to Haryanvi and voices it out in a human voice via Meta Platforms Inc.s WhatsApp to the farmer

Vijayalakshmi, who goes by a single name as is common in southern India, voiced a question to a bot in her native Kannada language on education scholarships. Moments later, a human-like voice responded to explain the government aid available to her 15-year-old son.

Survivors of a shipwreck carrying hundreds of people continue to blame the Greek coastguard for causing the rusty trawler to capsize, as scores remain missing.

Greek officials said authorities recovered at least 75 dead bodies after a rusty trawler sank off Greece's Peloponnese peninsula in the deepest part of the Mediterranean on Wednesday night. Since then, no other bodies have been found.

Around 104 survivors - all men and primarily SyrianEgyptian and Pakistani - were rescued after the incident, though as many as 500 more people are missing and feared dead.

Survivors said at least 100 children were onboard the vessel before it sank. But as rescue efforts end, those on board are blaming the Greek coastguard for failing to save them sooner.

Five survivors who spoke to the Times said the Greek coastguard did not send help for at least three hours after the boat capsized.

Putin reveals details of draft treaty on Ukraines neutrality

azerbaycan24.com June 18, 2023

Moscow and Kiev agreed on the general terms of Ukraines neutrality and security guarantees during the peace negotiations in March 2022, but Kiev then abruptly discarded the documents its delegation had already signed, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Saturday.

During a meeting with a group of African leaders in St. Petersburg, Putin showed for the first time the draft documents that were being discussed by the Russian and Ukrainian emissaries in Trkiye more than a year ago.

According to Putin, the document titled the Treaty on the Permanent Neutrality and Security Guarantees for Ukraine had been signed by the Ukrainian delegation.

The draft stipulates that Ukraine must enshrine permanent neutrality in its Constitution. Russia, the US, Britain, China, and France are listed as guarantors.

The addendum to the draft, also shown by Putin, outlines both Russian and Ukrainian proposals regarding the size of Ukraines standing army during peacetime, as well as its equipment. Moscow proposed to cap the number of military personnel at 85,000 and the number of the National Guard members at 15,000. Kiev, meanwhile, proposed that its Armed Forces have up to 250,000 troops.

Moscow suggested that Ukraine should be allowed to have 342 tanks, 1,029 armored vehicles, 96 multiple rocket launchers, 50 combat aircraft, and 52 auxiliary aircraft. Kiev, meanwhile, was in favor of having 800 tanks, 2,400 armored vehicles, 600 multiple rocket launchers, 74 combat aircraft, and 86 auxiliary aircraft.

The sides also exchanged proposals on capping Ukraines mortars, anti-tank weapons, and anti-air missile systems, among other equipment.

The negotiations effectively broke down in the spring of 2022 shortly after Ukrainian officials accused Russian troops of killing civilians in several small cities around Kiev. The allegations were made immediately after Russian soldiers had withdrawn from the areas outside the Ukrainian capital in what the Kremlin described at the time as a goodwill gesture. Moscow has since repeatedly denied committing atrocities in Ukraine.

Speaking on Saturday, Putin said that Ukraine was responsible for sabotaging the negotiations. After we pulled our troops away from Kiev as we had promised to do the Kiev authorities had tossed [the draft treaty] into the dustbin of history, he said. They abandoned everything....

Joking Biden, God is Queer, Honest Cheeses and a Trapped Norwegian "IndyWatch Feed War"

[I Am Pizza in Siem Reap, Cambodia on 2/14/23]

Linh Dinh Substack June 17, 2023

In Siem Reap four months ago, I had an awful pizza with fake cheese, so wrote about it. Within hours, some anonymous, of course, left a comment at my blog, What the fuck is that white stuff, asshole? There has to be a better way to voice his disagreement or doubt, but such is the world we live in. Unhappy psychos jam the Jewjewed West.

Speaking of which, Anyjewname Anyjewsurname opines at my SubStack, Hard to read about Jews as you write! Are you in the cause of a new round of crematory stoves? Are you in the counterinformation business? Doing a mixed salad about who are the n-a-z-y-es in Ua, may i call you Adolf?

Another mistake (?!), combating vaccines put you in the select squad of Apocalipse cavaliers, working hard for the death. (Only in my country, more than half a million, and no argument can change this.) Staggering into gibberish, he goes on.

Biden to American Marines in Japan on 5/18/23, My son was a major in the US Army. We lost him in Iraq. Beau Biden died of brain cancer in Maryland.

Biden in DC on 6/14/23:

China has their Belt and Road Initiative. It turned out to be their debt and destruction initiative. No, Im serious.  Not a joke.  Well, were going to win, and were going to help.

We have plans to build a railroad from the Pacific all the way across the Indian Ocean.

Biden supporters will claim his railroad line was a joke. Theyre partly correct, because Biden is a running gag to the rest of the world and a howler on Americans. Moving from Trump to Biden, their contempt became even more naked, but they have nothing to fear. Americans are so easily herded or cowed.

With German boys in white shirts and indigo ties behind him, Quinton Caesar (she/her) thundered in Nuremberg on 6/11/23, Now is the time to say, We are the last generation! Now is the time to say, Black lives always matter! Now is the time to say, God is queer!

Like some near-death drag queen, the West has become very tiresome and obnoxious, when it makes any sense at all. Thats why countries are fleeing from its economic, military and cultural web.

In November of 2022, Russias Duma unanimously approved a complete ban on LGBTQ, pedophilia and sex-change propaganda in all advertising, books, movies and media. Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin argued this measure would protect our children, the future of the country, from the darkness spread by the US and European states.

Comprehensive Management of Senior Civil Services in India "IndyWatch Feed Asia"

Comprehensive Management of Senior Civil Services in India first shown on Taazakhabar News

Comprehensive Management of Senior Civil Services in India

There was a news report published in The Hindu on 27th March 2009 wherein a joint report of Azim Premji University and Lokniti, was quoted. In this report, it was clearly brought out that the citizen of the country had greater trust in the office of the Collector (manned by the IAS officers) than even the President and the Prime Minister. It is, therefore, evident that the IAS is not as bad as it is made out to be a select set of urban intellectuals, for some of whom could be a story of sour grapes. The country is certainly proud of institutions like the Election Commission and the UPSC which are primarily manned by senior civil servants. However, all is certainly not well with the senior civil services. There is indeed an enormous scope for improvement.  In the recent past, there has been lateral recruitment to bring about an improvement in the quality of governance. The moot point, however, is whether such piecemeal moves will really impact governance.
